Puzzle GamesAbout 2048
2048 is the minimalist merge puzzle that took over the internet. Slide the whole grid in any direction; tiles with matching numbers combine — 2 and 2 make 4, 4 and 4 make 8 — doubling all the way toward the fabled 2048 tile. Every move spawns a new tile, so space runs out fast. Corner strategies, clean rows and patience separate the casual slider from the 4096 club.
Developer: Gabriele Cirulli

2048 also has a site of its own: 20484all.pages.dev — the same game, with its guides and full-screen player.

2048 — Frequently Asked Questions
What is the highest tile in 2048?
2048 wins the game, but nothing stops you afterwards — with a clean corner strategy players regularly reach 4096 and 8192 before the board fills.
What is the best strategy for 2048?
Pick one corner and never move the grid in the direction that would empty it. Build your largest tiles along that edge in descending order so merges chain, and use only three of the four directions whenever possible.
Who created 2048?
Gabriele Cirulli, an Italian web developer, built 2048 over a single weekend and released it on 9 March 2014 as free open-source software under the MIT licence. He described it as conceptually similar to Threes, which had launched a month earlier, and to the Threes clone 1024.
